Football supporters club NAC
A few weeks ago I was approached and asked to join bike4children as volunteer. After a briefing by colleagues that are actually going to ride this 2000 km trip, I introduced bike4children to NAC. For over 30 years I am a member of the NAC supporters club mostly involved as editor of their club magazine Geel Zwart. The Geel Zwart edition is about 3000 pieces, is printed and distributed 4 times a year among NAC members and sponsors. The supporters club management and NAC itself are approached on a weekly basis to support and sponsor other funds and charities though they can use all the help they can get themselves. Even though they have decided to support bike4children by providing half a page in their club magazine for promotion purposes. Because one picture says more then a thousand words a picture has been made of the actual participants and other bike4children volunteers. The flag in the picture displays a text, `Wij gaan niet opzij` which means as much as “We don’t step aside” or “make my day!! ” which is the NAC slogan, just this is the slogan that the bike4children cyclists are going to need on their trip. Obviously 10 times 200 kilometres isn’t natural and the cyclists aren’t going to bypass this challenge. Besides attention in the Geel Zwart magazine the supporters club have participated in the spirit of a “Serious request“. NAC1 has donated a framed club shirt with all the players autographs which is currently being auctioned, all raised funds will be donated to bike4children.
